Pennsylvania’s Child Custody Laws for Deployed Military Parents

My short article discussing Pennsylvania’s child custody laws for deployed military parents, including the new 2012 amendments, was published in The Legal Intelligencer‘s July 2012 Family Law Supplement. The article can be found here.

  1. I have filed with the courts to have my sons rights transferred to me when he deployes in six weeks. My daughter in law has battled everything so far in this custody fight. I really hope the judge hears our side and grants the transfer. If not I feel this wouldn’t be in my granddaughters best interest. The parents have such hate for each other that I am afraid without our consistent involvement in her life , she is two, that the mother will try her best to have her forget about my son. She even lived with us for 13 months….say a prayer!
